you're reading...

Of what use is a dream?
Of what use is a a good plan or thought?
Why fill your heart to the brim
With good intentions and not walk the path?
Of fulfilling them.

Dreamers are as useful as fruit trees heavy with leaves but no fruits.
You see the potential and the promise of better times ahead
But somehow they never materialize.
We see the problems and speak the truths.
But as dreaming is useless so is speech that invigorates
And does not sustain or support the life

Wake up, start working
Shut up, start acting
Enough with the promises and words of hope.
No one is asking you to solve all the problems, all we ask is a sign that it can be done, start it and we will help.
Plant a seed, it will be watered.
Perform a good deed, someone will be encouraged.

The solution lies in us
Africa’s future depends on us
We need to look within
We need to break the mental chain that constrains
It is easy to dream but harder to make it a reality
But this difficulty is not an excuse, it should motivate us to work harder to make it a reality.

Of what use is knowledge if not applied? Of what use is an advice if not followed through?
We keep complaining about the state of our nations and our governments. Every single problem must be solved by the government. What are the educated doing? Can’t a financial analyst advice the people of his village on wise investments freely? Can he not team up with an agriculturist and teach them the latest developments in farming and how to best utilize their scarce resources? Why do we keep complaining if we are not ready to do anything and worse when we know and understand the problem and know how it can be solved. But are we ready to take the reigns? Are we ready to apply ourselves?

I think we are. Rise Africa is about people who are tired of words and dreams. We have the passion and this will help us achieve our dreams by actually doing something; selling of shirts to raise funds to support projects, writing articles that show the good that is going on in Africa which will serve as encouragement to those doing the deeds and to others who will follow in their footsteps.

  1. “Of what use is knowledge if not applied? Of what use is an advice if not followed through?”
Very true. This goes for almost everything in life.
    Less talk, more action.

    • 16a1403535fI want to show my appreciation to the wreitr for rescuing me from this setting. Because of looking out through the world-wide-web and getting basics which were not beneficial, I thought my life was gone. Living devoid of the solutions to the difficulties you’ve fixed by means of your good short article is a serious case, as well as those which could have in a wrong way affected my entire career if I hadn’t noticed your blog. Your own knowledge and kindness in playing with almost everything was priceless. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I had not come upon such a stuff like this. I can now look forward to my future. Thanks very much for this expert and sensible help. I won’t think twice to propose your blog to any individual who should have recommendations on this matter. 195
